California Arts Council
The California Arts Council is a state agency governed by an 11-member council appointed by the Governor and the Legislature to advance the state through the Arts and creativity, with an emphasis on children and underserved communities. Council members and staff have expertise in the creative industries, Arts education, community development, state and local government, and the nonprofit and for-profit Art sectors. We support Arts in education, professional Artists across the state, help build strong Arts organizations at the local level, assist with the professional development of Arts leaders, and promote awareness of the value of the Arts. The Arts spark the engine of Creative California, and our goal is to ensure that they are available for every Californian.

For 105 years, NAMM has proudly represented the industry that brings the gift of music into people's lives. What started in May of 1901 as a small, grassroots organization of 52 founding Members has blossomed into an international not-for-profit trade association representing more than 9,000 retailers and manufacturers of musical instruments and products from 92 countries worldwide. CMEA is a Federated unit of MENC: The National Association for Music Education . Membership is open to all music educators working in public and private schools, colleges and universities in California. The purposes of the association are: to promote access to a sequential music education for all Pre-K through grade 12 students taught by fully qualified music educators; to support and improve existing music programs; to promote quality pre-service and in-service music teacher preparation programs; and, to create a greater awareness of the value of music education through partnerships with other associations and advocacy among state and local agencies. |

Over its 33-year history, CAAE has advanced its mission to promote, support and advocate visual and performing arts education for preschool through post-secondary students in California schools. It is the only statewide organization that brings together all primary constituencies for arts education, K-12 teachers, school and district administrators, professional teacher associations, teaching artists, arts organizations, professional development providers, parents and PTAs, and interested community members in higher education and business. CAAE works with this broad cross-section of constituents to develop policy and advocate for change at both state and local levels. A member of the nationwide Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network, CAAE’s success has been predicated on a model of strategic partnerships including the California Music Project and other organizations. |

The Associated Students of San José State University has over 100 years of student service and leadership. We are the students’ voice on campus regarding fees, academic excellence and non-academic services, as well as the center of student activism and representation regarding student life and shared governance. The Associated Students of San José State University were among the first to acknowledge the importance of the California Music Project and through joint efforts with the College of Music of San José State University have established an interactive program placing graduate and undergraduate students into under funded elementary school music programs. This program will serve as a template for other California State University campuses to follow. |

Blue Star Music Camps provide a safe, encouraging and fun environment for youth, ages 13 to 18 to learn contemporary music, voice and stagecraft from professional musicians, including Grammy-winning artists who "pass it on" to the next generation of performers. As a nonprofit dedicated to diversity, we give away 1/3 of our seats in scholarships to kids in need, This provides young musicians who might not otherwise have the opportunity, the chance of a lifetime---to play alongside seasoned professionals. With the support of such luminaries as Bonnie Raitt, BB King, The Rolling Stones, U2, and Robert Cray, to name a few, Blue Star is helping the kids rock on! |
